King Midas and the Golden Touch

Posted on June 18, 2012June 18, 2012 by jgrebes

This was one of the more intricate pieces I did for the Senior Art Show, a comic retelling of the myth of King Midas. Painted with gouache, gold ink and black ink outlining, it won a best-in-show prize, and was bought by the school. At 30″ by 20″, the piece was too big to get a picture that was both full view and legible, so it’s been broken down into a guided view.
